Clean Count Cook County is a non-partisan working group of Cook County citizens who have come together since March 2016 to advocate for improvements in the transparency, accuracy and fairness of our elections in Chicago and Cook County. Many of our members have had extensive experience poll watching and audit monitoring since 2003.
We train and recruit citizen poll monitors and auditors to observe the elections and audits to make sure they are managed lawfully, and that vote tallies are accurate. To that end we are negotiating with Cook County Clerk David Orr's office for a citizen election verification project in Suburban Cook County, for the elections in March and Nov. 2018.
We will support poll watchers and audit monitors in various Chicago polling places as well.
We are helping to write legislation for the State General Assembly to increase election integrity.
We support Automatic Voter Registration, (AVR), and agree that voter registration lists must be secure and protected from hacking, and overt political manipulation via politicized shared databases such as Cross Check.
We are vigilant against voter suppression and election manipulation.
